hmm rip off

okay so i got an estimate to install a 05 spoiler on my 06 G35...they told me they can do it for 100 bucks because infiniti let them borrow a template.. so i went to the shop and waited to get it done.. they said it would take 4 hours because the work is very precise and they dont want to hurry them.. so i wait about an hour and half.. and they come out to tell me that theres no way they can do it for 100.. because they would have to create a template outa the one they got from infiniti because infiniti needs it back. so he then says it would cost me somewhere around 400... so i left and went to infiniti dealership.. and they are trying to charge me 350.. and i bought the hardware which was around 70 bucks.. so pretty much i am paying 420 to get installed... i know a few ppl on here got an 03-05 spoiler installed on your 06 coupe.. let me know how much you guys paid???

also any one interested in buying a 03-05 OEM factory spoiler from me? i cant afford to install it.. let me know

Try to find one at a junkyard. I am sure it would be much cheaper to do that and have it painted than buy one outright.

Get it installed elsewhere, dealers charge way too much.

i went to this shop and it doesnt seem very easy.. you have to drill about 10 holes in your trunk.. and they need to put some gooyy stuff on it so it doesnt leak when it rains.. dont really trust my self doing it... bodyshops charge more than the dealership because they dont have the template and have to make it..

Just put it in your closet until you come up with more money. Sucks you did your research first but it was the shops fault!

It's really easy to do on your own. Just mark the trunk before you drill it to ensure that the holes will line up straight.
