Tint Questions

I just got my windows tinted on my coupe. It looks awesome but there are a few odd things I am noticing. The windows actually look real dirty, almost like white smears on the windows. When I try to clean the windows on the inside and outside the smears do not go away. The tint is about a day and a half old. Are the smears the glue still drying or is there something wrong with my tint. It is a black 20% tint.

Re: Tint Questions

wait a weel (or two since it is winter)....if it doesn't clear up, take it back to the tint place. Don't touch it, you might accidently shift the tint and cause damage

Re: Tint Questions

I don't drive one....I have gotten my cars tinted in the past.

To answer your question, it will look like crap at the dot matrix area. YOu can't really do much about it though, unless you don't get the tint applied at the area.

Re: Tint Questions

That is SO un-true.

Any good window tinter can tint around the dots and make the tint stick completely areound the dots without showing any air gaps. If the place you go to can't do that, go somewhere else.

Re: Tint Questions

Here is a close up of my rear window. I got Huper Optik, It took the guy 3 hours, and he did a pretty good job, Mine came out a bit better than my friends Supra TT.

You can see bigger pictures if you want <a href="http://www.unitedcommerce.com/g35/images/window_tint/DSC00267.JPG">click here</a>

Re: Tint Questions

That looks great. Most of what I see tend to be crap though.

Mind posting the cost to give others a general idea?

Re: Tint Questions

We did a group discount with Wintech window tinting, They drove to the office twice. Once to show all the different tints and then did the install while I was at work.

Cost me $265, usually $350 for the Huper Optik

The glue is drying. Don't touch it! Just be patient.
