i meant im a lexus technician.. and the dash rattles like crazy in these cars(most new models but also the IS). Theres a technical service bulletin on removing the entire dash.. dissassembling it, putting sound dampening felt EVERYWHERE, lol, and then reinstalling it.. and it usually comes back in a couple months because cars are made out of metal and plastic and the car moves.. so there will be wear and subtle noises. granted the japanese have gone to GREAT extents to pursue perfection in the vehicles( i saw the plant and the "lexus pursuit of perfection drilled into my head haha) but no car will ever be noise free and perfect. especially when u completely take it apart and put it back together..that good?

Now i get it, my cousin has a new IS350 and with 15k on the car still no noise whatsoever. soo........ I guess it depends on the car. But generally lexus is known for their built quality and comfort.

trust me i def know.. we have soo many meetings and pamflets and memos about "pursuit to perfection" everything done right.. i guess thaats why we get paid more/hr over other dealers. but there soo much detail we have to do.. not just diag and repair.. but also prevention and customer satisfaction.. i love the cars.. the RX330 is the hottest suv out and the LS is crazy luxury.. i mean what other car do u know parks itself? WTF? imagine having to fix something like that if it were broken.. i am really not looking forward to the classes we gotta take.. actually i quit... NOW lol haha

well my bfs 250 has been in the shop numerous times already .....a seatbelt recall and a gas pedal recall PLUS a blown strut where he had to drive around for a few weeks while waiting for the part to be shipped in i guess the expectation are very high of these pricey $$ lexus's ...as if they're bullet proof which of course they're not. then again thats what the 48k/48month warranty is for noo ???

my friend has an IS. its very nice. sometimes i envy the luxury and comfort of it.

whenever i drive my car, or even look at it, all of those feelings disappear. fast.
in fact, my next car- GTR- will probably be less luxurious than the G, and ive told myself i wont be buying another G again. the drive just matters too much to me.

maybe the wifey will have a lexus

to the OP i would suggest the 07 G35 Sedan or 08 Coupe (due mid next year)

I haven't complained about my cars rattles ever, just took it to the dealer and they fixed it. The guy was asking ups and downs of the our cars and the IS and i told him the honest none biased answer. I love my car so much that when i drive the IS350 and the 07 sedan, it doesn't impress me as much when i go back and drive my car.

I would be torn deciding between acua tl, is, and G if I were looking for a sedan. The Is is a little too much luxuary and not enough sport for my taste, tl is front wheel drive I believe, can't have that, Don't really love the styling on the g sedan, but value is unmatched. All awesome cars. It's gonna be tough to choose, but lots of fun.

Honestly, IS350 vs. G35 is a tough call. I suggest you drive them both so you can make a more educated decision.

waste too much time to complain lol. Maybe I'm just too lazy too care even if it annoys me. I got a rattle on my door. Only got 5000 miles on it. bah!

Anyways, the G coupe is almost outdated. So your choice is either IS350 of G sedan.

G sedan is newer. 1st generation usually have alot of problems.

I say IS350

if u want more power and still have that AWD.. go with the new 07 G sedan AWD. it has more power than the current G coupe/sedan and is just as fast if not faster than the IS350 (they are putting out same hp and mag test to be pretty similar in acceleration). i would def. consider that plus it's cheaper than IS350.
however, one thing you do give up is how nice the lexus interior is. its no comparison man. i own a 05 G coupe, been in the new 07 sedan a few times, test drove it couple days ago.. and im telling you the lexus interior quality and finish is still a step above the new G. the new G interior is getting alot better but still not as nice as a lexus..but then again, not too many cars out there are.

if you are more into the driving experience (ie. handling, performance, driving pleasure) i would go with the G. G is alot more like a bmw in that perspective than a lexus. lexus is just a luxury sedan that tries to be sporty if u know what i mean.

and whoever said IS is cramped, well should sit in the new G sedan. it's small as hell in the back as well. and the leather and nav system really isnt as nice as lexus. but G does drive and feels like a driver's car

The IS ,being its the 1st year of production on the new model, will need some tweeking here and there. The new G35 Sedan will have its fair share of rattle and squeeks too, later to come. Test drive a G and you will appreciate how smooth the Lexus is.

For me, I'd pick an IS350 over the G . If space was a problem , the GS430 is teh one.

No, there are not changing the design for the 07, just some minor “bells and whistles”. Redesign wouldn’t happen till the 08' model.
