Hello! I just ordered some Fast Intentions stainless steel resonated testpipes. Im going to be running these on a stock exhaust for the time being. I havent been able to find any posts with testpipes on a stock exhaust, so I was curious, what gains should I expect realisticaly, and will it make it sound any louder/deeper? (I hope so!) Thanks!

Scroll down. You can read that with a bone stock 350Z, they gained 9 HP and almost 10lbs-ft of torque with the test pipes.

You'll be very happy with the Fast Intentions TP. I have the HFC and am more than happy with them. Great products and kick-*** customer service! Post some sound clips when you get em installed!

You'll probably get a quite a bit of rasp.. I remember throwing my test pipes on with my stock exhaust.. and it was horrid lol.. but it does help out not having any restrictions for power.

Helix (good brand.. personally I think they're not as great as FI but they're a good brand)... if they're resonated you will have less rasp of course. However, expect some rasp

test pipes are generally known for about 8-12whp

some tuning may be necessary

would the tuning realy be necessary if all you had was test pipes CAI and plenum spacer?

i wouldnt suggest getting a tune until youre done with ALL of your performance mods. basically so you only have to do it once and be done with it.

at least thats what im going to do. i dont see a point in getting a tune now when i know im not done modding and i know ill need a tune later anyway.

question
If i were to decide between test pipes and a full exhaust which way would you guys go? I know the test pipes would be much cheaper, but still, exhaust systems for the G can't offer around a 10 hp gain can they?
