Carputer... is it worth it? Can i control my car?

Hello Everyone,

I used to have an RSX-S, and there was an ECU mod called Hondata. Your able to set your VTEC, etc. I know G35 does not have VTEC (obviously )but i am wondering if this "CarPuter" everyone talks about is similiar; where i can control redline, air flow intake, etc.?

Or is it just a computer for the car that does nothing special that a regular computer does not do?

its a tuneable system similar to hondata...it is worth the money if you start adding major mods to your car, but that should really be your last mod you put on

Hondata was for the car ECU. There were several versions of it. Either a stand alone or reflash. With hondata you were able to control vtec and other things.

CarPuter is an actual computer that people would put in the car to have multimedia capability for navigation, dvd, mp3 and other things.

2 different things

yes you are correct

Yes it is just a computer that has nothing to do with the car tuning ability, BUT there is an interface that is designed for CarPuter (regular computer) to be communicate ecu and display parameters as well as using a stand alone ECU to datalog right on the computer.
