Red Line Oil

Hi,

I wonder is anyone using Red Line Engine oil for their G? I read a magazine saying that someone gains 20HP on his M3 by using Red Line on Engine, Transmission and differencial oil. Is it possible on our G? I am using Mobil 1 right now. I wonder is it neccessary to use it?

Re: Red Line Oil

I seriously doubt that using RedLine synthetic will give you anywhere near 20 horsepower. It may give you a couple of horses.

Re: Red Line Oil

I read that article. They used Redline oil for engine, tranny, rear differential. Through less friction, about 6 hp was gained...

Re: Red Line Oil

Saw some show where they added royal purple to the whole drive train and it gained a few extra ponies. So royal purple is a good synthetic oil as well.

Re: Red Line Oil

How much does that stuff cost? Yeah that's pretty amazing for some oil to give a horsepower boost like that........

Re: Red Line Oil

I have red line in the engine and diff. Im sure it helps but no noticable differnce.I was told not to run it in my auto tranny .Infinity will not warrenty it if you change it . Also Red Line doesnt make tranny fluid for it because of it.

Re: Red Line Oil

I heard that you shouldn't run it in your tranny because it may void warranty.

I used it in my MX-6 and noticed just a slight difference in the way it shifted and in how smoothly it revved up at part throttle. I didn't really notice much difference at full throttle
