Help! Have you had these problems?

Hello everyone,

I have a 2003, 6MT, with 13,5K miles. I'm hearing and feeling a rather loud noise or thud from behind the steering wheel area when I turn the car or hit a sharp bump in the road. I can feel it in the steering wheel and in the pedals. Has anyone had this same problem?

Also, there are two loud pops coming from the rear brake area the first time I apply the brakes, going forward, after the car has sat for an hour or so. I've had the dealership look into it before. They said they didn't know what it was but put "some shims in". The noise has never gone away and now instead of one "pop" there are two! From outside the care the noises are pretty loud. Has anyone had this same problem?

I plan to take the car to the dealer but I was hoping that someone might have had these same issues. I want to go informed and so those service guys don't think I'm a "dumb woman".

Thanks for your help!

only 13.5k mi! I just went in for a 15k mi service on my 05. If it's covered under warranty don't worry about it. Tell them they didn't fix the problem last time.

I only work 4 miles from my home and we take my husband's vehicle everywhere else. Plus I have two other cars. ("Some people have kids, we have cars.")

My dealership (Grubbs in TX) has a policy of not working on anything unless the service advisor experiences it. Once you bring the car in, they go for a ride with you and if they can't hear it, it doesn't get looked at or fixed. I've even brought copies of TSBs and it doesn't make a difference.

Contact Infiniti customer relations and complain that dealer is taking that approach.
