Got my G not too long ago (about 3 weeks) and ive noticed two problems, one is maintenance related.

1. MY brakes squeal LIKE CRAZY. New AP Racing brakes with slotted and drilled rotors; im guess maybe pads? could it be anything else?

and

2. Sometimes when i shift, or (specifically when my 260lb friend gets in the car), i hear what sounds like the shocks making a weird click noise. is this normal? from my knowledge, i beleive the shocks are factory..

(car has 10,000 miles. all packages, except navi)

 

1. Could be pads...you'll have to look at them to see if they are in need of changing e.g. less than /18" or so of pad material left. Or they could just be pads that squeak, some pads have a reputation for making more noise than others due to metallic material in the pads themselves. Or maybe the pads weren't "bedded" correctly when they were installed?

2. Get lighter friends? Sorry, I can't help you with that one...

 

3. Check your oil frequently.!!

 

i do... out of curiousity... what does my oil have to do with shocks and brakes??

 

for the most part, every BBK ive seen has been a bit noisy compared to stock. It must be the pad compound.
do they stop making noise when they get hot?

 

there is a tsb on clicking from the rear axle. i've had this problem on mine. it might be what you have. difficult to say with your explanation. have a look yourself ... TSB

 

One of the biggest problem with our cars is the fact that our break pads wear out like nothing else. So you probably have to change them.
