Okay this ECU resetting and getting the car to where you like it during the break in period. Is this explained by the dealer or is it in the drivers manual? And how do you know if you have the car where you want it? Do you just keep resetting the ECU until it feels the way you want it?

I have never had a car where I had to do all that but then I've never had a 35,000 dollar car either........

I dont know if it has anything to do with it but I read in past posts that there was a TSB for a problem with the slip light coming on more often then it should... take it to the dealer and explain the slip light issue and maybe they will have a simple solution for you... all that hassle you seem to be having just doesnt sound right... break in is one thing but i dont think you would notice the breakin effects to the extent it sounds like you are experiencing...

No what I meant was that it took a while for the car to learn to drive the way I wanted it to. I at first drove it mostly in auto, but last 8000 miles(i got 14k total) I have been using manual mode most of te time. Dont get me wrong I though it was powerful when I got it .... but couple of thousand miles later, it lets say got more refined to my driving habbits. I never reset the ecu until recently. The dealer did it for me when I had it for service. I didnt feel any difference. Maybe if I would have done it sooner after break in I would have felt more of a difference. I only babied it for only about 600 miles, I couldnt wait.

kinda off topic, but I notice a lot of you guys say this car doesn't perform well in the rain . I haven't had to experience that in this car yet(I live in CA). Anyway, do you think it's the tires? I'm saying this because when I had my '01 SS camaro I was absoluetly scared when it rained with that car. Then I switched to better tires (firestone firehawks), and it was night and day. Too bad those tires aren't made for the G, I already checked. Does this mean I have to be scared driving in the rain again...lol. T

Actually I just drove in light rain. I did about 75 on average with vcd off, I have no problems, I mean the car will breake loose if I floor it but thats obvious ... I like the fun I think the G handles better in the rain than my accourd coupe did. The only thing I am concerned about is snow and ice. We will see this winter.

If your G has the 18" wheels, snow tires or AS are necessary! I bought the G last Feb/March and had to drive it home in the snow. It would not turn sharp, start well or even make it up my driveway (running start needed). Get snow tires.

my G handles great in the rain also. For those of us who can't afford snow tires hows it handle in the snow. Should i be concerned about winter coming, not that we get a great deal of snow here in St. Louis but at times it can be considerably bad out

Ahh I am getting snow tires, my blizzaks are on the way with 17 inch rims. I tried driving in snow last winter on the 18 inch pilots .... key word being tried. Its insane, I wouldnt advise anybody to drive in snow on the pilot sorts .... unless if you like to live very dangerously

Before you do, please read the thread by MrElussive on what can happen when you do that (hint: the thread starts with the word "accident"), and how he feel$ now about VDC-off.
