Sunroof Deflector

What is the general consensus about the sunroof deflector for the coupe?

Re: Sunroof Deflector

I've never actually seen one on a coupe...and I can't imagine anyone here doing it. I know I wouldn't. I think it breaks up the natural sexy lines of the car. (wow, if my wife heard me say my car is sexy she'd tell me to sleep with IT).

Re: Sunroof Deflector

The wind deflector's main purpose is to deflect the wind from going into the cabin, thus, reducing the wind noise by at least 60% (you can now talk without screaming...;-)
I had it on my previous car, and while it's useful, IMHO it will look awful on the G.
I'd pass.

Re: Sunroof Deflector

It looks like crap and the wind coming in isn't that bad. The little factory one that pops up does a good job.

Re: Sunroof Deflector

I must agree with you TrentaCinque. The little factory one does a pretty good job of deflecting the wind. Never had to close the sunroof due to too much wind noise. Only on the highway doing 70-80 that you have to close it. It's way too hideous to put on the G.

Re: Sunroof Deflector

I almost always just tilt the sunroof instead of opening it all the way. You don't need the rice...I mean wind deflector.

I agree. I had one on my previous car and it worked very well but I'd never put one on my coupe.

Re: Sunroof Deflector

I had one for my honda prelude and subaru svx, but to be very honest it looks gay and will affect the sexy lines of the coupe. Having been called gay by my girlfriend, No more for me.

Re: Sunroof Deflector

Thanks for the opinions. I have decided againt the sunroof deflector as I would not want to look "GAY" - not that there is anything wrong with it. I am finally picking up the car this Saturday - it was delivered to the dealer yesterday (2 weeks ahead of schedule)

On order: 04, G35C, DG, Prem, Aero, Perf. Tires and wheels. Should have before Thanksgiving

Re: Sunroof Deflector

Quick (and maybe dumb) question, but what do you guys mean by "that little factory one that pops up"?
Are you talking about tilting the sun roof upwards? or there is something else there that I'm not aware of?

Re: Sunroof Deflector

blitz, when i went to dealer, they had sedan and coupe on showroom floor. coupe was DG with chrome wheels, maybe aero or some other package (don't remember if it was 6mt) and it had wind deflector. i thought i looked good.

when i ordered my 6mtC, i got dealer to throw it in. i later told him to throw it in trunk. figured i'd try car without it. heard it might scratch paint (only visible once removed).

some hate it, i thought it was nice. but i never installed.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.
