Congrats on the new car! For what it was designed to do, the STI is an awesome machine.

 

If i could take the all wheel drive, easy to mod, turbo power of the STI and blend it with the awesome good looks of the G you'd have one sick car. I just hate 4 cyl turbo lag in the summertime. I love my VQ.

 

You know, we're biased G owners. To avoid as much bias as I can, the STi is a great machine for what it was designed to do [as Callaway states]. Some people prefer style and looks and some prefer performance over anything else.

G owners are just shallow, LOL.

 

Good luck on your purchase!! I in contrast, got rid of my 05 STi to get the G. If you live in the Tri-State area, you might want to call your insurance company to see how much you will be getting shafted for each year before you sign any purchase agreements. FYI, the STi is biased towards the rear, so you can still get tail out!! And trust me, off the line, its stupid silly dumb fast, but don't go pick silly fights from a roll!

 

Who said anything about being a hater? On the contrary, I don't hate those cars, I just don't like the look (inside or outside) of it. For what they are (speed and handling), they are good cars. I have friends who had them and love the speed of the car. However not one of them are happy with anything else about the car (realiability included). Most of them have it as a side car (aka weekend car) and have other cars to drive in. I agree that cars will get old on people if they don't like it. It's almost 1 1/2 years since I bought my car new and still like the car. Maybe I'll change my mind in 1 1/2 years too, but until then, I'll be waving at your in your review mirror, with a smile on my face

 

My girlfriend owned an STI, it was just totalled, someone from the opposite side of traffic hit her head on. I'd have to say I wasnt wearing a seatbelt in the passenger side and not even a scratch on either of us..thank god, it held up really well. Good luck with that thing. I drove it all the time. Handles great, fast, faster then a N/A G of course. But geeez man...she has the electic blue one, with the big wing. I'm 26 not 16, i wouldn't be caught dead valeting that thing outside the entrance of any night club here in NY. That would be embarassing..thats just my take on the STI.

funny thing, i had a STi before i came to the g35..

quite frankly, i got tired of the poor interior/road noise and worries of having a "fixed up" car.. i had full suspension and etc.. but i really love to commute w/my radio up and actually being able to HEAR the damn music

 

this is just going to turn into a hate thread...

yeah the Sti is fast...but the G looks better

Sure, if you don't mind threads where the end results are never truely "The End". Really, why even make this thread to begin with? To just **** every G owner off? Basically, a nice translation would be "Hey, I got rid of my POS G for another car." As though that won't irk people here

 

Great car faster than all hell with the right mods.... but its like riding in a metal box nailed to a skateboard with all that damn noise. Enjoy it be safe just dont come around splashing your BOV at the FI g's or you'll be lunch
