G35 Clutch is Out
Hi everyone. My clutch went out on me last week. I went to the dealership and the new clutch and flywheel is 2100. I looking to see before I make this change what other things I should do. Is there a After market kit, a good dealership in SF Bay area to get it done at, and any way to make the clutch easier (Extermely stiff).
Any help would be great.

and I read an article not too long ago stating that we only get about 30k out of our stock clutches.
What other options do we have (different setups?)

The labor is what will eat you up a tad bit more. Don't have the dealership install it, go to a reputable body shop, they are a bit more sensible.

Read the Car and Driver Long Term Road Test report on the 350z. They got 23k out of the clutch and was not able to get it covered under warranty.

I think it's pretty much common sense how well you treat your tranny. If you're clutching out at 4000 RPMs from a full stop 4 times a day, then yeah, it's pretty safe to say that your car is taking a beating. It depends on your driving profile; ride hard and you can expect wear and tear parts like those found in your tranny to give away faster.

Hello,
Hey Khalil, glad to see you are happy with our services! (Great customer by the way!)
The JWT Clutch/Flywheel combo is the most common setup out there. Jim Wolf claims the clutch will hold up to 600ft/lbs of torque. So far, from what I have heard, it has been one of the most reliable setups out there as weel.
zdamen1, these are available, so if you are interested give the shop a call, and I'll get you takin care of! Thanks!!

I wouldn't go to the dealer to have a clutch changed. Either bring it to a shop or do it yourself if you're feeling adventurous. A shop would probably charge you significantly less for the labor than Infiniti would and you can bring in your own parts and have them install them without any fuss.
