I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I brought my car in to get the CD changer replaced and asked them to go ahead and fix the grease problem while they had it. Worked fine and I haven't had any window problems since and I'm not wiping my windows everytime I open and close them.

 

Based on everyone's replies, it sounds like that it would be best to leave well enough alone. I didn't even consider that the repair could create more problems. I'll just live with it, and hopefully it will go away in time. I appreciate all of the replies.
