Trade to SLK350/SLK55

My Wife is in-love with this car and I don't mind getting a two seater. I have always viewed the SLK series as girly but the SLK55 does have some punching power. What do you guys think? Oh, even though she's in love with it I'll probably driving this most of the time.

eeewww, Can't live driving an Auto so I guess only option is the SLK350. I think I can change the hood to the SLK55 but I can't shrug of that it is a Chick Car on my head...

If I get this then I'll give up my G35.

The new slk 55 amg is badass my neighbor has one and i have been in it a couple times. That thing will flat *** fly! i believe it has a 7 speed auto so you cant even begin to complain there. It growls to its very sexy hard top convertible as well. I personally love this car...it is in no way girlie.

The interior is even more amazing! Good luck!

Edit: The auto is faster anyways with the AMGs (the shifts are so fast its insane). The only reason i would bother buying a manual is if you just want to have fun all the time. It has the manual mode or whatever you want to call it. So if you want to have fun just throw it in there.

True but what is the point of getting a sports car if you can't have fun and at least feel that you are in control. I fall asleep when driving an Auto but I'll still go test drive it and see if it is not that bad.

i personally don't like them

that and the Z4

they are too small, and they don't look good
it looks like a toy
every time i see one i look at the driver who is usually 40-50 yrs old.. they look so bad inside the thing... not classy at all.. esp for people of that age

the Audi TT is like that too, but the body is more round.. so the short length of the car matches the overall design
the SLK's design doesn't match the short length of it at all

i know they're way different but look into the Audi RS4.. SICK car

that's just my opinion.. and i know what matters is what the driver thinks

/\ Funny I was just looking at the S4/RS4 before my wife went in and told me to look at the SLK. RS4 is sick even the S4 but the sedan look get really old after a few years. If the time comes that I need a sedan then RS4 will be my # 1 choice because of price/power and 2nd will be the M5. For now I want something real sporty before we have a baby.

I dunno... wait for an M3?

I test drove the SLK55... it is a beastly car. If you're looking for a hard top convertible that will tear some ****, this is your car. Well, for under 80K, it is (depending on how you option it). Oh and the tranny lags a little. At least the 06 models did. If you're gonna miss having a clutch pedal that much, then don't get it.

355 HP

376lb Torque

gross vehicle weight = 3400 lbs

manual shifting steering wheel paddles!!!

WTF u mean u wont have fun!!
paddle shifting 355hp looks fun, u get to drive like a paraplegic on crystal meth!!!

go for it

BTW: I know the SLK AMG is a beast but it does look a little girly, if u gotta get rid of G, then i dont know, maybe opt for the CLK550 ...382hp not bad & doesnt look as girly

I did a roadster test and.. i cant find anything more fun to drive than the honda s2000. Hands down the best roadster in that catagory. I know interior sux, etc etc. But w/ the extra 20 some odd thousand you save from buying the slk55amg.. you can do some crazy stuff to this car.

well speaking from experience since my Girl(shes 5 ft tall btw) drives a 2006 SLK 280, its a very compact car and im only 6ft tall. my head is literally touching the top of the car when im sitting with the seat all the way back. in my opinion its a great car for a female but i havent driven the SLK 55 amg...from what the info says on paper it sounds like an amazing vehicle but it has a hefty price tag.

If you are concerned about the girly factor, add the 3 magic letters AMG to the SLK55 badge, and you should be all good to go...
