I can spot another G from a mile away. Coupe or sedan, I get a little excited when I see one, and try to acknowledge the driver in some way, shape, or form. I still don't see very many in a day. About a month ago, I am 4 lengths behind a White coupe very close near where I live. I speed up and get through the traffic, just to pull along side of it. Inside were 2 women. They were having a conversation of a lifetime. I did everything but run into them, and never got them to look over. Today, the unthinkable. I saw 2 Coupes within 10 minutes, both going my direction at stop lights. The first, a Graphite Coupe, non-aero. I'm the first car in the left turn lane, and he pulls up, 2 lanes over, and seemed to be in La-La land. Never gave me a look. The second one, just a few minutes later, was a Black Coupe, Aero & 6MT. Again, I'm the first at the light. He pulls up on my left side, but continues to inch forward into the crosswalk, to where no eye contact could be made. BTW, I think he was picking his nose before he came to a full stop. The light changed, and I could hear him going through the gears. So I guess my question is, "What is it, and why is it?" Maybe it's just me? I dunno...

I try to wave, give thumbs up or something to fellow G owners (350's too as a matter of fact) but half the time the other drivers could careless. What happened to the good old days when all G owners aknowledged each other?

I try to acknowledge other drivers but dont even get a look from em. Got one from a Z. Other than that all the others look like they are too good to acknowledge any other G owner.

 

Yep, I see the same issue almost everyday. I own the G for almost a year now. I only got thumbs up twice , interestingly enough, both were from Z owner. Other G owners seem to not care to look. Oh well .

OK, so based on the replies so far, I'm guessing that these people are ex-BMW 3-Series drivers, but kept that BMW attitude? I'm sure the ratio of G non-members vs. the G members is quite high. I think the members in this forum feel the same way I do when they spot a G. I know all of those people saw me, and noticed what I am driving, but looked the other way when they got close. It's too bad people have to be that way. One good story real quick, I did have a new Q-45 pull up to me not to long ago. Inside looked like 2 older business men. I looked over and they both gave me the thumbs up! I thought that was cool.

I am always looking to make eye contact for a wave. I have seen two other Coupes in the last 6 weeks in Southern SoCal while waiting for mine to come in. Despite that syndrome of when looking for a new car and all of a sudden you see them everywhere, well I am not seeing them yet.

I have noticed very little waving from fellow Vette owners in this area, kind of a bummer.

I acknowledge them with my gun. Once they see me then they want to race all of a sudden so I have to catch up. Good thing I have a "Powered by Honda" sticker across my windshield, it gave me that extra 30hp boost to catch up. =P

I try to give two thumbs up, when I see one. Unfortunately, I am in my Corolla most of the time, so other G drivers probably think I am crazy. I am thinking about getting the "G35driver" sticker for my corolla :0

I haven't seen enough G coupes to have a chance to wave or acknowledge. My guess is they'll think I"m crazy or won't even see me.
I also own a crotch rocket and most bikers wave whether they ride cruisers or rockets. It actually feel kind of cool to be acknowledged like that. Feels like you're in a club or something. Would be cool to do it with fellow G owners.
