I think im also just gonna stick with a sealed box that would be my safe bet i keep hearing from audio places I call. I listen to rap/hip-hop plus alternative rock and rock and all that good stuff. So hopefully it'll work out for that kind of music too and not just the hip hop. Plus if i buy this http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...Product_ID=255 can i just turn down the bass for like rock music or other kind that dont need as much bass?
You will notice that bass with rock rules! It gives so much more power to the music. Try Metallica "And justice for all" and crank up the bass. Do it with Tool Aenima too, you will flip!

Don't know about decibels since I do not have the equipment to measure it. But it was noticeably louder.

I have had just about every combo of subs within reason from eight 8's to four 15's and everything in-between. My favorite sub is still a 12". If sealed or correctly tuned and ported they are the most responsive.

My best recommendation is to at least double the rms power. Right now I have a Boston G5 12" with 1400W and it sounds great with all types of music.
