Did I damage my clutch?

Hey guys.. I was messing around with my G last night.. I guess I do not know what I am doing.
I went to a large lot and took off from a stop. Switch was off. I did not get any traction. I had to shift at 6000 or so to second and i think 3rd then just backed off.
I could really smell clutch. I do not ride it but I guess I did if I smell it right? Did I do major damage? Or can it take some abuse? Think I should tell the dealer to take a look at it.. Just say its been acting funny

Thanks for your time

they'll charge you for an hour of labour... $80 or so... you might as well take it in so it's on the record. you never know... my clutch went at 7k miles... the contact point on the clutch was too high up so the clutch was never making perfect contact and everytime i hit a bump in the road the clutch would burn

tell them that you are not going to pay for the labor ahead of time. they will want to keep the car for a few days and do a road test on it

Do you think that would work with 18K miles?
Did you notice anything else before the clutch went?

lol its all good man =-) just drive it easy until you get fully used to your clutch. knowing that you havent driven manual in 10 yrs make me pretty sure this is your first hydrolic clutch so it may be pretty tuff at first but you will def. get used to it and then you can say byebye to the smell of clutch. As for taking it to the dealer man... BIG WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
