Tire pressure

I just got through doing some searches on my question but I did not get anything definite. So here we go. My light came on this morning for my tire pressure. I messured them and there was one lower then the others. The tires states that the max is 50psi but I know that is not where I am suppose to run them. Are we suppose to read the lable on the inside of our door? Isn't that for people with stock rims and tires?Everyone seems to be all over the place with what pressure they are using. Is there a rule of thumb that we are supposed to be sticking with? The car has been sitting for about six hours now and it is reading at 30psi for 3 and 26psi for 1. Are they all too low? or should I just inflate the one to 30?

if im not mistaken, general rule of thumb for tires... the less tire wall, the more pressure needed. you may have a nail in the one reading low. I keep my stockies as close to 35 as possible

I run my 20's at 35 psi. Any higher, then I might as well have granite tires

Check for nails etc in that low one. Just fill it back to where you want to run your pressure. The TPSM light will go out after a while. Mine activates at 28psi, so you running at 30 is real close to activating the sensor(s). 30 is too low imo for 19's. What size wheel you running?

Don't believe everything you read...............

Inside your door is a plack that tells you what pressure to run your tires
or inside the owners manual. It sound like you have a slow leak in one of
your tires. Go to a tirestore and have it checked out and don't run more
than 35 to 37 lbs in your tires. More than that and you'll have a rock solid
ride..........

sometimes weather will have to do with the pressure. when the temp goes up your tire pressure will be up and when the temp gets colder then your pressure will go down a little but it doesn't hurt for you to check all your tires pressure once a month. Tire pressure varys also depending on the tires temp, pressure is lower when the car parks over night but once you start the car and drive it a bit then your tire pressure will increase a little bit also.

What are people running for their 18"? I just got 245/45/18 tires for my sedan and the shop put them at 38. Seems way to high. I bumped them down to 35.

Tire shops tend to run the pressure high so the tire will seat to the rim. Drive around for a week or so, then adjust them to your liking. Make sure you do it to a cold tire. Don't adjust them after they have been driven. We run the recomended 32 on our coupe.

I have OEM 18s and recommended PSI is 35. I would run around 35PSI even if I had aftermarkets. The only way I would lower the pressure to let's say 32 is if I went down to 17s.

Thx for everyones reply. I put one tire up to 30psi and drove it and the light was still one. So the next gas station I went to I changed everything to 35psi and right when I was done with the last tire the light went off. So I guess the magical number is 35. I was mainly concerned because the wheels and tires are not stock. So I did not know if the lable would apply for those tires.
