i have it on my G and the difference is day and night. i drove my friends G w/o one and it felt a little unstable on those corners...

you'll not gonna notice a difference if you only drove it for 5 minutes. had my car for 2 months. then drove my friends car who didnt have RAS and yeah, there is a big difference. my car feels tighter on the corners and feels more stable when cornering and switching lanes.

do you really need it? NOPE. but the difference is there.

I own a 06 6MT with the RAS and I honestly would have never bought the G Coupe if it didnt have it on it. The handling is day and night with the RAS. I drove my friends 06 6MT without the RAS. He bought his 3 weeks after I got mine. And let me tell you there really is a difference in performance handling. Doing the same turns I was able to carry so much more speed with confidence thru the turn compared to his. And both our cars have nothing done to the handling. My car is sooo stable at high speeds on the highways and I have full confidence in the car when bookin thru turns. I've never had the cars rear slide out on me. And no its not because I wasn't going fast enuff And the steering input is a nice feature too, having it stiffen up the faster you go. Really helps you feel more connected to the car when u are quick driving and changing lanes. So for the extra $700 dollar option....to be able to have the car move like that...I would tell anyone to wait and get it if you are gonna buy a new G!

Brembos are nice, and perform like few OEM braking systems can, but they also produce a lot of brake dust and they wear out more quickly than the newer non-brembo brakes. Would I have picked the brembos? yes, but I also like not having to clean my wheels every 3 days like I did on my mini and bimmer. But I would still have gotten it.

And let's not even get into the 03-04 engine compared to the supposed "rev-up" engine of the 05-07 coupes. I'd like to see what ghosn does with the 08 coupe engine, though. I have my doubts that it will be able to compete with the 335 coupe like the current one competed with the 330 coupes.

anyways.

I don't think RAS counts as one of those things that people care too much about... at least not quite as much as the debate between the 03-04 versus 05-06 set ups.

No offense but I attribute most of what you feel to the "placebo effect". On the track I'd be surprised if what you feel could be measured in terms of imroved performance, i.e., quicker lap times.

whats LSD?...

Limited Slip Differential and this is an important factor in getting best lap times, but some manufacturers have eliminated it to save money.

It is called evolution, if it is better it will remain, otherwise it will die.

Wow so all these differences you feel is this at the track or on the Freeway. When i'm 'bookin' on the freeway i tend to stay at 65mph which is the spped limit. Is that when you notice the differnece?1

6MT Coupe
At the time I bought mine, it was the only 6mt on the lot and it had RAS.
I like it, glad I have it and have expressed my thoughts about it in another recent post on this subject.

If you finance or lease, the additional cost of RAS equates to just a few bucks more a month if that. Worth it IMO.

I want spirited RWD attributes and handling. If I wanted to feel "connected" and "safe" and "sure footed" then I would've bought something with AWD instead of RWD.

65mph to feel the difference? wrong... get over it. if you dont have it, ur gonna cry about it.

all it takes is just a lane change to feel the difference.
