Stillen intake and 1/4 mile times
Stillen intake and 1/4 mile times
I ran my car to a 14.3 at 98mph with my car totally stock. 2006 A/T.
I had my sub in the trunk and a 1/4 tank of gas. My 60 foot was a bit above 2.1 on that run.
I now installed my Stillen intake and Z tube. I am going to run it again and see what has changed.
Since no one really has ever run these simple mods back to back at the track I am going to give it a shot.
I am going to turn the car back to stock and run then put the intake on and run again.
We will see what happens. I will keep it if I run 14.4 or faster. Anyti8ng above that and I'm going to sell it. The MPH is everything not the actual time across the line IMHO.
I might be loosing some low end torque and I think my 60 foot will tell me that.

Weather, track prep, and way too many other factors have to be considered before making any type of judgement either for or against a mod.
You are not comparing apples to apples here.
I know from personal experience that the same track on the same night doesn't always tell the whole story.
I used to run my 03 Cobra at the track. When I first got there, I laid down a 2.2 60' time a couple of times, then after the trailered Pro Stock cars with 15 inch slicks ran down the strip and laid some rubber down and warmed the track up, the 60' time dropped to a low 2.09 just about 30 minutes later.
there was definately more grip on the track after those cars ran
