hi guys,

my spoiler will be coming in on monday hopefully, and i want to get it painted. but living in pittsburgh, nobody drives g's (only like 3 stock ones) and i don't know where to take it to get painted.

i've been doing hours of research, bit still don't know where to take it. i checked yellopages and i don't know if i should trust a random shop for a high-quality paint job (doubt if they deal with 'high-end' cars). i was thinking about taking it to the dealer and having it prepped and painted. is this a bad idea? and what would be a reasonable price?

thanks

usually, dealership body shops are not very good quality. if you cannot find a professional shop that does custom work or very high end cars, go to a mercedes, bmw, porsche, lexus etc. dealership and have them do it.

thx. porsche, mercedes and bmw dealerships are a few minutes away from me. i'm planning on taking it to the mercedes dealer and having it painted. is that a good idea? what do you think is a reasonable price for painting a spoiler? my max is around $300.

depends on the quality of the spoiler...if they need to fill pits and smooth seams, it may get pricey. two fifty to three hundred is average.

most dealers have a house body shop that they use. YOU SHOULD GO TO A BMW STORE OR MERCEDES STORE LIKE MENTIONED ABOVE, THEY PROBABLY HAVE GOOD SHOPS THAT THEY USE FOR THEIR LOT DAMAGES, AND ACCIDENTS GOOD LUCK.

wow that's a good price. my dealer told me $550. but yea, i'm getting a data system spoiler, so it's unpainted. so i guess it's not good to take it to my dealership to have it painted huh? there's only one in the entire freakin state (well at least in a 5 hr radius ) and there arn't any 'professional shops' that i know of nearby. i'm planning on driving 3 hrs this sat and have my springs and the spoiler installed.

i dont know if i can trust the benz or the bmw dealer but my infiniti dealer and them are my only options i hope they do a good job... what else do i need to know before i take it to get it painted? it's ok to install it a few days after getting it painted?

Hey, i'm new to the forum and i was wondering about the same thing. I have a scuff mark on my passenger side door and I tried washes and waxes to get it out but it wont come out. Is a new Paint job the answer?

YOU NEED A TO GO TO A BODY SHOP, HAVE THEM USE A WHEEL WITH SOME COMPOUND.
