Are you sure it was not a pre 2003 Cobra.... there is a major power difference between the two and would put the Cobra into your power range with your vortech power adder... I could see this being what you describe
+10000. There was no way it was a 2003 or newer.

We just left mcdonalds and there was some whole car club there that drove a bunch of civics and they had like 30 cars outside. I didnt do nothing with them though but I sure would have liked to lol. Anyway i get 2 blocks away from my friends house and as i pull up to the light I see its a brand new silver Mustang GT. I casually looked over as i pulled up then just turned away, before i had the chnace to fully turn my head he reved his engine at me. So i was like fkit and reved it back. Keep in mind my car is 06 6mt with nothing but an injen cai on it. Light turns greet and we go, my tires were freezin so i spun really hard, but was a nice amount in front of him.... threw second gear which was actually very early due to the tire spin so the car had only about 60% at best of its power. By the time I was throwin 4th gear I was over a car in front of this guy, i seriosly couldnt believe it...he turned at the light before me, musta been embaressed ;x. Keep in mind please this is a 3 lane, both direction area and we were the only 2 cars on it.

Mustangs are slow peices of dooooodoooo. Stupid "white trash ferrari's"

i dont know, i just really thought 06 gt's were mid to high 13 cars. I even looked at my friend before the light turned green and said im probably gonna lose rite now. I'm not blowing smoke, but i think stock for stock if i was drivin that stang vs a good driver in my car, i think i might just win in the stang. But dont get it twisted....i would never ever consider owning that car...just thought they were pretty quick 1/4 mile cars.

regardless, it felt damn good winning lol.

well for starters i always check cars like that when i see them by if there stoped...if they have brake lights on, which i know isnt 100% accurate at all...but also the way launched you herd him rev and drop it, as well as i noticed his car lurch to second in my sideview.

Esp with me being a prior 03 Cobra owner putting 480 to the wheels...with that said a 1000hp car will get beat by a Neon if it can't put that power to the concrete...ie traction...

I dont believe he beat a 03 Cobra. My cousin drove my 03 Cobra and I drove the g35 all i have is Stillen Catback & JWT Popcharger I lost by buslengths. Didnt have a chance but with that said my Cobra is nowhere near stock must of been a 99 with 03 cobra rims.

Well.... as this story is written... I met a guy today who has a white 2005 G35. He has the vortech and a bunch of work done to it (I think he said about 8K into the engine). He claimed 430 to the wheels..... We did not race ... but I let him drive my car and I drove his. His car was fast but it felt nothing like mine.... he came back after driving mine with the same conclusion and we decided it was the torque difference. where his is 380's mine is 410.... a margin of 30 is noticable to both of us.

I told him about a guy on this site (which he says he is coming to check out) and he said he doesn't mess with the 2003 / 04 Cobras.... he said it is a wate of gas on his part.

BTW .... the G is on my Christmas list.... lets see if the wife gets it for me!

A mustang GT tried to race me before in my old car (Grand AM GT) it was obvious who will win so it was just dumb. Some kid just being a bad ***. It was right before I got my G too. I remember wishing I had the G already haha
