Listen please let me allow everyone to know, I am not a street racer and I seriosly almost never ever do this. But it was 4 am sat night, me and my friend were running around all day trying to get stuff together to go ridin (quads) the next day. We just left mcdonalds and there was some whole car club there that drove a bunch of civics and they had like 30 cars outside. I didnt do nothing with them though but I sure would have liked to lol. Anyway i get 2 blocks away from my friends house and as i pull up to the light I see its a brand new silver Mustang GT. I casually looked over as i pulled up then just turned away, before i had the chnace to fully turn my head he reved his engine at me. So i was like fkit and reved it back. Keep in mind my car is 06 6mt with nothing but an injen cai on it. Light turns greet and we go, my tires were freezin so i spun really hard, but was a nice amount in front of him.... threw second gear which was actually very early due to the tire spin so the car had only about 60% at best of its power. By the time I was throwin 4th gear I was over a car in front of this guy, i seriosly couldnt believe it...he turned at the light before me, musta been embaressed ;x. Keep in mind please this is a 3 lane, both direction area and we were the only 2 cars on it.

 

they arent supposed to kill us, it would be a drivers race. I beat a 98 mustang cobra the other night on the freeway (empty). The new GT's arent as fast as they're cracked up to be.

I blew away a 2004 Cobra yesterday AM. It was white and the dude asked me for the race...he had to be really embarrased...I took him by about 7-8 cars, not even the whole 1/4, and backed off as I was still pullin....two times in a row - 2nd race was 25MPH rolling...it was fun!

Out of all the Mustang GT's i taken on i've lost to only one, but the dude had a crapload of work done to his Stang (RICH KID) about a good 15K...anyways he beat me by like car and half, all of the other Stangs GT's ive beated them, which shows that FORD is behind in performance cars (aside from the Ford Gt), i mean their Mustang Gt's weigh less then our G's and are V8's and produce more HP/TQ...and still cant blow away a stock G...sad if you ask me...

 

Depends on driver. My friend's 2001? stick Mustang GT w/ cobra wheels consistently beats my '05 auto G35 at lower speeds but after 120, he's easily mine. I might take him from a dead stop though. That's 50/50. From 30 to 120, it's all him though for sure unless he misshifted.

 

Hye Guy's!, AS An Owner of a 90GT Vorteched Stang, and Have an 2007 G35S 4Dr on the Way. I can Tell you It's Mostly Driver! U can have all the HP in the World, with a crappy Driver, and you will get beat by a Stock G35, Especially these Coupes! Now I know a new GT can Easily go Mid 13's With like a Filter and Exhaust! But if you beat these Guy's Kudo's to you! Me personally, I would be sick if i got beat by a mostly Stock G35 and I had a new Stang!! LOL. Aiight Speed Safely!

 

I raced one a while ago, but he had a huge jump on me...i was talking to my friend when the light turned green. GRRR havnt ben able to race one since then

 

+1 on it being the driver...he has a 15whp advantage on you. not sure about gearing or weight though? it wouldnt surprise me that at higher speeds youd win, so yeah maybe in 4th gear... but thats moving pretty fast for most streets... stay safe

 

I would have to say horsey poo to this (2004 Cobra) for you to beat him by 7-8 cars... you must be laying down 575 plus to the wheels. Unless he missed 2nd and 3rd gear of course.

Are you sure it was not a pre 2003 Cobra.... there is a major power difference between the two and would put the Cobra into your power range with your vortech power adder... I could see this being what you describe

 

Uhm....he is supercharged if you didnt know....

 

A couple of weeks ago I took and older guy on a brand new GT, but as others say if both cars are stock it is a drivers race. And I honestly believe that if both drivers are really good drivers driving stock cars, the mustang will pull away just a bit.
