hi everybody...I have a 6-MT and today for the first time, I had a long distance driving with lots of traffic...However, I had hard time pressing the clutch...it was very hard to press...is it normal??? Also..OMG..my left leg hurtssss....

I've seen so many posts about this. My G35C 6MT (April '03 build) seems perfectly fine in this regard. I've never felt for a moment that the clutch was stiff, and I'm not a particularly big strong guy (5'7", 130 lbs). I'm also 51 yrs old, and I don't work out in the gym or anything. So like...WTF? Did I get a "soft" clutch pedal spring or something? Are the people who are complaining about this just being whiny? Leg pains? What? Really...I'm baffled...

its common to get those aches when u take ur first long drive. i drove to detroit 2 weeks after i got my coupe.....8 hrs drive with a 1 hr break. i left leg was aching for a few days. you will get used to it. i drove to NYC hte week after that and it didnt hurt or ache a bit

Yeah, I think most of these guys are just whiners..... The clutch in these cars are not hard at all. Sure, there are lighter clutches, no doubt, but there are also MUCH heavier clutches out there. Try driving a new Mustang Cobra, which has a much heavier clutch than a new Mustang GT. The Cobra clutch would probably snap the legs of these complainers.

Personally, I hate an extremely light clutch pedal.....in the same way that I hate over-assisted power steering. I like to FEEL something when I'm driving.

 

I thought the clutch on my previous car (MR2) was heavy. Now, the G35's clutch feels extremely light, I love it :P

I agree with Hitman and MrE. The clutch did seem a tad stiff compared to my 280zx but after a while you get used to it. I like the greater control I have with the stiff clutch. If you think its too stiff get ur a** to the gym, and get on the damn leg press.

thanks everybody for the responses... my G is my first manual car so i dont know how stiff the other manual cars are...however, i'm getting used to this now and enjoy driving this car...
