VDC off, Slip and Svc Engine Soon light

When I stepped on the gas after waiting for the light to turn green at a stoplight, my VDC off light, Slip and Service Engine Soon light came on and it felt like I was starting in fifth gear. I was able to slowly drive it into a parking lot and that is with the gas pedal almost all the way down. After I turned off the car and turned it back on, the VDC and Slip light turned off but the Service Engine Soon light is still on. It seems to be driving ok now. Does anyone know what could be wrong? I will probaly bring it in to the dealer tommorrow.

Any more info on this from anyone? What exactly about the throttle body is it? My car is no longer under warranty.

Basically have the same thing. VDC Off, Slip and Serv. Eng. Soon light all on. After I turned the car off, all the lights except the service light went off. Next day they came back on. I've also noticed that it takes about 2-3 seconds for the car to start when I turn the key.

Any further info on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

for the most part on these forums, i read its the throttle position sensor that creates the above symptoms but you never really know which sensor could be acting up.

for my car it was the cam sensor they replaced which shorted. when you go to the dealer they can plug your car into the machine and read the code. good luck with the repair.

well since it has been three years since the last reply i would imagine you have taken care of this but I just had the same thing hapen and it was the camshaft position sensor in bank 2, takes about an hour to fix by yourself and is about 300 cheaper than the factory repair.

if its sluggish power with the lights its the ETC (electronic throttle actuator). if it has extended cranks, no starts or cuts off.....then it'll be one or both of the cam position sensors. both are easy fixes. just a 10mm bolt that holds the sensors on once you remove the engine cover and take them out from the back of the heads (bank 1 is passenger side!) and take the intake off of the tb, four 5mm allen bolts that hold it on, swap out with new tb and new gasket, replace intake then perform your throttle closed, app, and iavl procedures.

Hey, Did you upgrade your intake? Did you plug back the plug that connects to the intake? I forgot to put mine back one day and I had all the 3 lights turn on. I plugged it back in and it went back to normal.

Just a thought.
