You guys are neglecting one simple fact...in order to have a performance or racing series for infiniti, they need to have a series of performance/racing cars. Realistically speaking, as of now, infiniti only has the g35 coupe...other than that there is no real performance/racing type of car from infiniti. Perhaps if they come out with more cars that are at that level, they will actually make a new badge for them as cadillac recently has done with its V-series.

Nonetheless....i really hope it happens. Infiniti definitely doesn't get the credit it rightfully deserves.

The rest of the worlds G35 as you know is a skyline 350gt, Nissan has always started their skyline ranges ( 32, 33, 34 ) with a gt & a gts range which was then followed by a gt R model in each case, so nothing has changed with bringing out the new GTR. Tell me does the new gt R look more like the R34 or more like the 350 gt.
Heres the answer 6 mins 15 seconds into this clip and look whats running with the new gtr so dont tell me the G35 over there and the new gtr are not linked.

Agree...nice find.
Don't mean to get off topic but, did you notice that the new GTR is a 3.8 liter (2min 40sec into vid.) I knew there was speculation, but that's proof in my book now.

Perhaps Infiniti will have a high performance series once they go global, which is soon, btw.

May be a Spec-R??
Like
M Spec-R
Q Spec-R

But i don't think there will be a high performance G35 because the high performance version of the G35 is the new GT-R......

The GT-R is not a skyline anymore. The new GT-R isnt on the FM platform either. It is on its own platform. So no, the GT-R is not the high performance version of the G35.

Seriously, stop associating the GT-R with the G35. They have no connection whatsoever. The new GT-R is a brand new car with a brand new platform and a brand new motor and a brand new suspension geometry.

Agreed. It is a completely different car. The G35 = Skyline. The GTR is the GTR.

I think that sounds good
Actually they were going to come out with the Infiniti R-Spec line, which was going to be our version of NISMO. They had plans to produce R-Spec vehicles and everything. The idea was scrapped because the vendors Infiniti planned to use wouldn't warranty their products for 48Mos/60K...

With Infiniti it is the 45

FX35=6 cylinder while FX45=8 cylinder, all wheel drive

M35=6 cylinder while M45=8 cylinder, all wheel steering

G35=6 cylinder while Hmm, G45???

They need to drop a 8 cylinder engine in there, like the GT-R and be done with it. Hook that shizz up!!!

Um, but we are in America... Oh wait, your in the UK

Infiniti has announced their plans on going global...so Nissan is out of the question.

Infiniti has already been officiallly introduced to China this week... and will quickly be going everywhere.

Dont believe me? www.Nissannews.com

And no

------------------------

They are not linked... period. The G35 here is the Skyline 350GT elsewhere. The Skyline GTR is the Skyline GTR (also) elsewhere. (The new GTR, although it is a Skyline GTR, is only called the GTR by the way)
