Question Very dumb question about dealer pricing ...

Ok winter is here, and its snow tire time.

I have my tires left over from last year, lots of tread life left in them. They're already on the rims, i just need them balanced and put on the car... I asked for a price quote on a Mount and Balance at the dealer... and it was 116.50 for 4 tires...

Now, I'm assuming "mounting" is the tire to the rim, and not mount on the car... (pardon my ignorance)...Do you think I need to have them remounted?

How much should I expect to pay to have them just balance and place on my car, if I dont need them remounted? They haven't gotten back to me, and I'm going to make another appointment elsewhere if its still the same price...

Thanks all,
Tim

Well I have to take it in for them to look at my cd player (it sucks) and have tranny fluid flushed, and I guess there's an outstanding recall on the car (not sure what it is though) so i have to take it in either way.. so I'd LIKE to get it all done there if at all possible, unless they like totally soak me for a ton of money...

your tires are already mounted to your rim. There should be no reason to take your tires off unless there is a hole and you had to patch it or anything that would make them dismount your tires. They should oly charge you to balance them.
