Well, it's all right. I don't know what you could possibly do now... Whatever happened happened already. Regardless of what the cop told you, you are a bit out of luck. I suggest that you just take it in as something you learned and will never do it again. That's life, no point wasting time being emotional over something you can't fix. And I hope the guys on this site will stop acting like they are all perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, you made yours and now you know better. Good luck with everything.

 

next time get a lawyer to fight it for you. i'm in the process of fighting the system right now. saves on insurance, time, and money.

 

Don't feel bad everything here in Boston is considered a moving violation, ie window tint, ride height violation, front plate, loud music. I have had about 16 citations in a year when I had my SI. The stupidist one I got was for 200.00. I was shifting gears and the BOV went off. It was like 2 in the morning and the cop pulled me over and said I had a noise compliant issue with my car. Of all the other things he could have given me a ticket for his punk @ss chose that.
Appeal them all. Because in the end if you don't we all loose due to insurance and reinstatement fees and fines. I have come to the conclusion that it's a conspiracy. You get a ticket you appeal it, so you loose time from work. The magistrate finds you guilty so you have to pay 20.00 to have a second appeal where the cop shows up (that's here I don't know about everywhere else). If the cop shows up you loose 20.00 + the cost of the fine and or license suspenion etc or the cop doesn't show up and you win and you're still out of 20.00 that could've went to gas.

If I did all that in MD I would have lost my lisence way before you. They suspend our licenses are 8 points and we have mandatory driver's training for going anywhere above 5 points.

 

yep..did the same thing as you, paid the ticket, got a letter in the mail a month later saying i have to pay a "driver liability charge of 300$ over 3 years"...yeh you can thank the new york governor for those great laws he enacts. they enacted the 3 year 300$ law literally 2 weeks before my ticket.!

 

Guys, 65 in a 40 is certainly not unthinkable....I'm sure we've all one it, even if by accident. Like he said, some ppl get caught, some don't.

Oh and like high-tech said, here in MA everything is a friggen moving violation (expired inspection sticker!!!!), and you should fight everything no matter what.

Don't settle for lowered fees, always appeal for the points

 

so uh, how did you get 10+ pts. and get suspended for 31 days.
i got my license suspended for a whole year in 2004 for having 5 pts.
