Yup, it happened to me. problem with clutch on 05 G

for once in my life i wanted to test my G out... i go to an empty lot, and rev up to 4.5 or so, and let go. There it goes , as im trying to accelerate and my car is redlining (not my intention) the clutch gets stuck... so i let go. my clutch got stuck. i was like wtf. when i let go, it popped out after 30 seconds. wont do that again, but why did that happen? cant speed in my car? dont get it

I really dont understand why people feel the need to dump their clutch at such high rpm's, are people retarded here? To get a good launch, the MAX you should dump it at is at 2.5K while feathering on the way out. You basically burned a good K amount of miles off ur clutch.

x2 Of course your clutch is going to stick if you dump it from 4.5K what do you expect it's a rear wheel drive car.

i dont understand why any flamming is going on though....its a 40k "sports car"...this car should be able to handle a little abuse here and there. if you going to drive the thing like a fkin fruit then go buy a toyota prius and save the enviornment. I too am annoyed at the clutch in this, mine works pretty decently, only stuck on me maybe once and not for no 30 seconds, but regardless this cars clutch is garbage. And i work for infiniti.

Actually the G35 wasn't designed for the drag strip. It's more of an excellent handling road course type of car. Now many of the old American muscle cars with solid rear axles had clutches and rear ends that could withstand a lot of abuse, but they were strictly straight line cars and could do little else.

i just wanted to know if anyone else had the same problem as me. and why it happens. i dont usually race the car, but if i wanted to drive all grandmaish, i would have gotten a buick.

Now do a search and read about the eleven-teen million owners who have tried to get their clutch replaced under warranty.

Few and far between. Infiniti doesn't like to warranty the clutch. Rare.

To me, a 'little abuse' and a 4K clutch drop are in two separate categories, but what do I know?

Yes, it's happened to many people. It seems like the throwout bearing or lever will stick at high RPM, but that's just my theory. No, the dealer will not replace the clutch if you say you can't dump it at 5K RPM. But, the clutch will still be fine after just one time (albiet probably shorter life). If you keep doing it, that's another story.

Oh, and this is not a case of a "slipping clutch" that can't handle a certain power. There's actually a mechanical problem with the linkage/hydraulics that keeps the pedal partially depressed. It does seem like an aftermarket clutch with a slightly heavier spring might cure this.

I dump my clutch between 3-4k atleast twice a week. I got my car with 11 thousand miles and now it has 22 thousand. clutch is still pretty good, dont really see a difference since i first got it until this day. I have done numerous drops pass 4k and no problem. I just spin a lot. When i first got it, it would stick at 2k, 3k, 4k and 5k. After a couple of times, it just went away. Just remember, if you play hard expect **** to happen.
