Dealer quoted me $450 for 15K service

Is that obscene or what? Anyone in the NYC area whose dealer gave them a sane price on the service? I would like to get the 15K done at my dealer, but $450 is out of this world...any suggestions?

As far as I understand the 15k is primarily an oil change, cabin/air/oil filter, and a bunch of inspections...am I missing something here? Because I don't see how that adds up to $450...

Tell them to give you an Invoice of what would be done if you were infact to opt for the 15K service. Then take that list and subtract about 25 of the things, because they can be done by yourself.

I was told that you can just get an reg. oil change and change out cabin filter(on your own) and that pretty much sums up the whole thing.

Hey for $375, I can "inspect" your car. Get the normal oil change and change the filters yourself. All for less than $75.

Was it Atlantic Infiniti? If so that place would cheat there own mother out of money?
I put down money on a FX and not only did they sell the car out from underneath me but it took me over two months to get my $1000 deposit back. They tried to do a bait and switch routine on me. Fukcing asholes!!

honestly you only need to worry about oil changes every 3k miles, in cabin filter 12k or 12 months, radiator flush/refill 30k miles, trans service 30k miles, diff service 30-45k miles, plugs at 30k miles but thats a personal thing...beyond that everything else is really unneeded

It tells you in your manual what will be done at each check point.

WOW...No this was Inifiniti of Manahattan. Atlantic Inifniti was the first place I went. Came in on a Thursday...agreed on a deal to come in first thing Saturday morning to buy the car. I get there and they say they gave it to another dealer in exchange for an M35.

MIND YOU I asked them on Thursday if they could trade with another dealership for a white coupe (which I initially wanted) and they said "Sorry, we don't do trades".

I walked right out and bought my car at Inifiniti of Manahattan 2 hours later.

but getting back to the point...yeah the dealerships are crazy. I just dont understand how other members on this forum got their cars serviced by dealers for $150-200...and mine wants $450...

I just called the dealer for an oil change at 23k miles and the guy was trying to convince me to due a 7.5k service which is over $200. For kicks, I asked him what does it entitle and he basically said "Oh we check the brakes, battery terminals, tire treads, oh and an oil change". pssh...retarded especially when the 30k service is around the corner.

is it true that if you dont get your maintenance/service done like how the dealer recommends, you lose your warranty?
