The lowest 0-60 time I saw pre-break in was 5.9 sec.
The lowest quarter mile time I saw posted pre-break in was 14.4 @ 98 MPH

I forgot whichmagazine this was in but it was online. I'll try to find it- it was at least two years ago though.

Yep that was for the auto. They were in tiptronic and used brake torque If I remember correctly.

I tried to google it and this is all I came up with for now.. There was another test by an actual magazine though that I was looking for this link is not it but it also says 5.9 0-60.

I wouldn't call this site a "car enthusiasts" site but it is one reference.

I have seen other tests at 6.1 and 6.2 secs in the 5AT as well.

You should be easily under 6 with a plenum spacer and running the test with VDC turned off. Might try running an Escort GT1 or GT2 performance timer, supposedly quite accurate.

im hitting right now in 65degree weather 5.54 at night and im an 06 5AT. Never clocked my 1/4 mile with the gtech pro RR. There is a video (professional review) on youtube that tests the 04 auto g35 coupe at 5.6 0-60 and 14.2 or 1/4 mile ill try to find the video.

Ya the 5AT gets quicker after you break it in. Most of the tests are done pre-break in so it's not suprising to see faster results after break-in- especially at night or when it is cool. The AT tranny transferspower to the wheels more efficiently when it is cool. When it is hot it doesn't work as efficiently. The AT is also more drastically affected by the break-in period than the MT. The car actually is programmed to hold back more during this time. Thus you may see a more drastic variance in AT times than in MT times.
