I'm driving a 5AT and everyonce in a while I have heard a high pitch beep about a second in duration. Only have had this car about 4 days now and heard this about 3 or 4 times. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Yes, it is a electronic beep. It almost sounds like when you program a station in my 4-runner... havent programed any stations in my G yet so wouldnt know if it sounds the same. To many CD's to listen to to worry about the radio yet. But it is a electronic beep about a second in duration. goes "beeeeeeep" then it stops.

Might be your tire pressure monitor. I think its supposed to beep and a light comes on if tire pressure drops below 20.

Tire pressure at a solid 35psi. Thanks for the suggestion. I thought it was some kinda warning of something or other, Does the VDS beep when it activates?

Others including myself have commented on this in the past. I don't recall anyone saying what was causing it. I plan to have it checked out during my next scheduled service.

 

Ya canton I think so, I was not pushing the car at the time I hear it, so those rpm's sound about right. I heard it again on the way home from work tonight. It sounds like it is comming from front passenger side of car, like the glove box is talking to me.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing.

I notice, what sounds like a beep or maybe even a dog whistle. And can only hear it when the windows are down. It sounds like it's coming from the intake. I think there might be somthing loose inside the intake that's causing it.

But of course, the dealer said "I don't hear anything".

your not going nuts. My sedan has the same beep. it's very faint and happens about every 10 seconds. I don't know if it does it when your driving but I do know when your parked and the engine is shut off it will make the noise. I just assumed it was somthing to do with the alarm

Canton_G35 ... I have that exact same noise. I have 6MT coupe. Whenever I give it moderate gas, I hear a whistle/beep of very short duration emitting from somewhere under the hood. It's noticeable with the windows down, but even with the windows up and radio off, I can hear it. I'm going to have a tech check it out during my next oil change. Doesn't seem like anything serious, but it can get annoying sometimes.
