Im hoping im not the only one with this problem...it seems as though everytime im am either in front or behind a (oddly enough) infiniti QX35/45 my V1 slams me with a laser reading and it scares the **** out of me. This usually happens when im closer to them but last night it was pretty far aways and i didnt see a cop, next thing i know theres a QX in the other lane....MYSTERY???

 

they have laser sensors. i'm not sure what they were for.. i think it was to measure distance from other cars and adjust the brakes accordingly but i'm not too sure... but yea, you'll get laser falses from those and from tail lights of trail blazers and what not too...

 

no need to get scared if you're not speeding or doing anything that can get you a ticket

who am I kidding, I too sometimes get all panicky about V1s laser sound hahaha that's cuz I got tint and want to avoid cops in the night time

 

Yeah it's a pain. Infiniti, Caddy and a few others are using K or Ka band based radar. ie.. Infiniti has it ON all the damn time so yeah out of the blue, I get a huge Ka band signal on my V1

As said it's for dist reading so you don't hit the person in front. But some are used for back up crap.

 

Its the laser assisted cruise control. Happens to me all the time as well.

 

neon lights will set it off as well...friend put a neon tube on his back glass where the third light was to screw with people on purpose

no, but the red neon simulates a laser beam. like the tail lights of some vehicles. hell, i was even getting laser falses from traffic lights at night

 

auto doors and wired alarms set off k band...neon is laser

This is what it is! My 04 FX35 had the tech pac with the lasar reading cruse control. Pretty cool feature but I never trusted it.
