It's official! NISMO parts are coming to your local Nissan dealer, maybe to Infiniti dealer too.... Check out the latest article from Autoweek.

"We drove a NISMO Fairlady Z (350Z to you and me), Skyline (Infiniti G35 coupe) and a March (nothing to us) with lots of parts from the Japanese catalog. NISMO officials said 50 percent to 60 percent of the home-market catalog will make it to the States.

The Skyline was first, with a new chip in the engine management system for 15 more hp, as well as springs, shocks, antiroll bars, and wheels and tires. The car rode on 245/35ZR-19s in front and 275/35ZR-19s in back.

The advantage was this Skyline had been put together by engineers, not some guy on the other end of a phone selling pieces “*****-nilly,” as they say in Japan. So all the parts were balanced against each other.

As such, they made a world of difference, bringing out more of the performance than we could feel was already in the stock, U.S.-spec G35. Acceleration was quicker, maybe too much so right off the line—a little linear throttle tuning would be nice. And it whipped through corners with a quickness that bordered on the darty. With a little familiarity this could be one fun coupe to coddle. But since the G35 has an Infiniti badge rather than a Nissan, there is no word yet on whether NISMO parts will be available for it in the States.".

Good post. I need a good supplier for the Nismo exhaust in the meantime. Any ideas??

 

you could just go to a nssian dealer and have then order the part for you. I.E. you want the nismo front spoiler go to nissan and ask for the one for the skyline V35

 

exactly, i hear this long time ago and today...still nothing, nada, zilch, zero. Not gonna believe the hype again until i see it.

i talked to a guy at the local nissan dealership here and he said they didn't know if they'd be able to get anything for our car. he said the infiniti dealership would be the ones to talk to. i sure hope we'll be able to get nismo stuff

The Infiniti version of NISMO will be called R-Spec which is due in the Spring. The launch date keeps getting pushed back because of the dynamics of the VDC which is standard on all G35's. The NISMO/R-Spec designers are having problems adjusting their products to factrory weight & sizing specs (this is needed to reassure the VDC will perform as intended). This of course needs to happen or otherwise they will not be able to offer the warranty, or keep the components from voiding the factory warranty. Now I know of plenty NISMO 350z parts that will fit & operate as designed on the G35, but of course you will run into the warranty conflict. I will keep you all posted.

I wanted it to be "INFIMO." So that people at the track would have to say, "hey, aren't you that INFIMO's driver?" Why yes, yes I am.

WHOA....the R-tune is not for G35 alone. It is a Track specific designation. The S-tune is for "Street". Therefore "R" is racing!!!
According to the article...

"Well, we are looking right now at a list of S-tune (for the street) and R-tune (for the track) NISMO parts that will fit not only your new-generation 350Z and Sentra SE-R, but also “Legacy” parts for your 1989-98 240SX, 1991-99 Sentra and 1990-96 300ZX."

Sometimes all I look forward to is the drive home..
