I was thinking if this would look nice? Has anybody tried replacing the stock rear turn signal bulbs with LED bulbs? Secondly, whats a good automotive LED bulb manufacturer, that makes odd sizes such as 7440, or 1156, etc.

If you don't mind having a "hyper blinker" then it would be fine.
By that, I mean it will blink way faster than usual.

Yes I have, and you will need a 6ohm 50watt resistor to make it work right or you will have a very fast blinker. I would also recommend getting a 7443 with at least 11 LED's, because I find that 9 LED's just are not bright enough in the day time, but I'm in sunny Florida.

 

There are no LED cluster bulbs that currently emit more light than the OEM bulb, if that is what you are thinking, unless instant on/off is your reasoning.

Presuming the resister is installed, will the 11 led version fit into the existing rear turn signal opening? How about the front bulbs while we are at it?

I think the instant on-off would complete the picture.
PS: Do you put the resister mentioned at the relay or inline with each bulb?

 

the resistor goes on the binker wire to the ground wire right at the bulb socket.
