Question car just repainted....need help

Well as some of you may remember my car was keyed all around a few months ago....just went through geico and they paid a ship to repaint the entire car for 4700....I paid a 500 deductible.....I must say shop did an AMAZING job.....paint is perfect EXCEPT just infront of the rear wheels is the clear plastic protector.....they painted OVER this instead of removing them painting and putting new ones on...it doesn't look bad but its not OEM....will cat lose value?....should I go back to shop and have them refo it?...only prob is they would have to redo a large portion of car on both side and sidekirts....what's your opinion?

Your insurance company will make them redo it but won't pay them for the 2nd time. The shop won't be happy that they have to do it over and eat the cost. Because of this, and being the pessimist that I am, you'll probably get a sloppier job 2nd time around cause the shop won't care as much. Or maybe not though.

Go Back! They have to do it right. Insurance company should not have to pay them. They did it wrong!

i am gonna be the one to tell you why you should leave it. The quality goes down with redos also the thickness of the paint increases so all the gaps become tighter. The value of the car will not change because 99 % of people will never notice that it is under the clear.

who told you this ? haha, sorry just made me laugh...

the only problem I see is that if they paint just the quarters, there are alot of things that come into play, such as matching the color, and even if the color is correct the amount of clear used can change the color, also, the pressure used to spray the paint.

I would say get it redone, or just get the clear strips and apply them over the painted ones.
