Car wouldn't start, can't figure out the PROBLEM. HELP! Edit 1.2.07

Edit #1, 1/2/07. The battery tested ok. After some search on the internet we started testing in Ohmz and originally got .07/08 yesterday. Today, it was at .53. My dad started testing fuses and noticed it leveled out again after the removal of the bose stereo fuse.
Has anyone had issues with their Bose deck that has caused battery drains? Of course I missed out on factory warranty by 2 weeks. I'm calling my aftermarket tomorrow. Suggestions?
Thanks again guys.

I appologize this is somewhat long, I'm trying my best to describe my problem.

I've never posted because since I've had my car (Feb 2006) it hasn't given me any problems. Here's what's going on.

I have a 2003 G35 Coupe. It's an automatic. Less than 45k miles. I bought it from a broker (he's sold my parents Corvettes, etc) in Feb of 2006. It was still under factory warranty but I bought an aftermarket as well.

According to Car fax, first owner was 12/17/02 so I'm assuming I now can only rely on my aftermarket warranty.

The OEM battery was replaced 9/08/06 with a Energizer.

My driving habbits haven't changed and nothing has been different about the car until it wouldn't start on 12/28/06. My dad took a look at it, and said it was possibly because I left the seat warmers on. That didn't make much sense to me as I've done it in the past and the car was fine. The light indicated they were off as the car was off but the manual mentions it runs?

We charged it up and upon leaving work the following day it wouldn't start again.
So we've been running tests on the voltage of the battery. Some times w/ the positive terminal unplugged too. Here's what we have.
12/30/06 - 2:40PM 12.58 Volts
12/30/06- 4:25PM 12.50 Volts
12/31/06- 9:15am 12.40 Volts
12/31/06- 11:30am 12.41 Volts
12/31/06- 12:30PM 12.39 Volts
12/31/06- 2:40PM 12.46 Volts (We had the car on for a short period).

What we noticed today while playing around. All the lights work, headlights and rear lights EXCEPT for the 3rd brake light. We tested the circuit board and its getting electricity so we believe the LED's may just be burned out.

After playing around the Passenger side backing up light didn't work. Then it would work again a after we took off the paneling and put it back on.

We cannot find if we have a short or an open circuit. Any suggestions on what to do or look for? Anyone in the East Bay, CA have luck with certain mechanics? Should I just bring it to infiniti?

The timing of this is horrible as I'm trying to sell it.

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read all of that.

I'm betting you cracked a cell (plate) in your Battery.
If your lose your ground, nothing will work right. There are six plates in a battery set in a series to make 12 volts But" only one ground.

Do you leave your key in the ignition?

For whatever reason, leaving my key in the ignition (in the off position) drains my battery...

Is there a way to check the plates in the battery myself (or w. my dad who is decently handy around cars)?

As for the keys in the ignition, no I don't.

When the car wouldn't start the first time it was in the morning before work. I headed out to start it and warm it up and the engine wouldn't turn over.

Any others?

Thank you both for your reply, btw.

Sort of the same thing happened to me... Check all your fuses... i blew a fuse once in my 03 6mt and it wouldnt allow my car to start either! I figured it was either a cracked cell plate in my batt. or that my fuel pump went when in reality i worried for nothing and it was just a stupid fuse lol im not sure which exactly i forgot sry... i also had about the same exact mileage as you do man! GLUCK!

Thanks again to those who have answered and tried to steer me in the right direction.

My dad and I are going to head over and get the battery replaced. Its less than 6month's old so that shouldn't be a problem. If all else fails, it'll help us narrow down what could be going on before I take it in.

1) All my lights are off, when my dad charged the battery while I was at work he went over and made sure nothing was left on. Thats how he came to the conclusion it could've been the heat warmer (because of what the manual said)
2) The engine wouldn't turn over when the voltage on the batter was low. The first morning, not even close. According to the voltage reading it was at low-mid 11s. When I was at the train station the 2nd time it was low 12's and CLOSE to turning over, but couldn't.

Thanks again guys, this is driving me nuts.

did you try to jump start using cables/or a jumper box??

if it startd when jumped, it just a dead battery..

the taillight issue, if it goes on/off while moving panels, you have loose wire connection. check alll terminals for fitment
