3m clear bra
I've seen it installed in person on my coupe by a professional and it wasn't that easy especially if it's a 1-piece clear bra. It took him 2-3 hours to install the front bumper, chin spoiler and headlights. Overall, it does a good job protecting the paint but areas where the rocks make an impact, it still leaves a wrinkle that you can feel when washing the car. I've since upgraded bumper and noticed that an aftermarket paint job with 2-3 layers of clear coat stands up well compared to factory paint. Given the cost of the clear bar installed of $600, I'd be much happier spending $200-300 to get the bumper repainted after 2 years. I prefer the clean look without the clear bra although it really can't be recognized more than 5 ft away.

Thanks for the info, though I can never seem to find a body shop who will do a job other that a full paint job.

Beholder....to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay, I charge $635 Installed for a complete Hood, Fender, Mirror and Front Bumper kit. And if your interested in the quality of work, I'd be happy to show you pics. I hope this helps...

I've tried to install the clear bra on 3 of my cars, and trust me, it's very very hard. The bumper is by far the most difficult piece.
The hood is fairly easy for our cars. But have someone install the bumper piece.
My car was recently hit, and they had to replace the front bumper. In the process, they removed the old clear bra, and repainted the hood. The newly painted hood and bumper held up much better against rock chips than the original paint.
I had someone install the clear bra over the bumper with 3M film. For the bumper (again, this is the hardest piece), it was $290. I can't even see it more than 2 feet way, and even then I have to be really looking for the edge.
Bottom line, don't try the bumper yourself. I'm a DIY guy too. I've ported/polished my intake from the filter down to the heads, I've done a quad projector retrofit, but that bumper is bad. The installer said that it's a 5/5 in difficulty because of the area between the headlight and the grill.

Also, make sure that the work is carried out inside a large garage. I had mine done in my own garage (installer comes to house) which is only just a little larger than the car and the dust was a problem. I do have a number of bits of dust/grit underneath my bumper piece because the garage was not clean and it was a windy day.
