Drove in snow for the first time...help!
Drove my G in 1 inch of sleet/snow last Saturday. Even with the Blizzaks, I was sliding all over the place. Was it maybe because it was more icy than snowy, or do these cars really just suck in the snow? If the latter is true, anybody wanna buy an 05 automatic with 11,000 miles on it? I'll get the sedan instead!
If you really must drive the g in the snow you need to add some weight to the rear since our car are rear wheel drive. Most people here put two bags of sand one on each side to add some weight. If you are chinese I suggest bags of rice this way you can still use it.

Ice is a great equalizer.
With the Blizzak's and cautious acceleration, you should do just fine.

i have dunlop m3 winter tires. my car is fine with those on ice and snow. the blizzaks are typically considered to be a more "hardcore" winter tire than the dunlops. your problem is most likely with your lack of throttle control entering, during and exiting corners. the car is also a bit heavy (3500 lbs) so you'll need to be more careful with the weight transfer (read as, don't make abrupt changes in steering direction, as the car will be more slow to react, or will react more forcefully, though typically will be less twitchy than your usual lighter weight car).
my suggestion: if you can safely make it in the 1" of snow/ice roads to a large parking lot, go for it. after some practice, you should get a feel for what you can and cannot do in the car on snow/ice. the cops will look more kindly to you if you are with mommy or daddy so they can tell mr. policeman that you are just practicing how to drive in poopy-woopy weather in your first nasty rear wheel drive car. awwwwwwwwwww

Check your tire pressure on the blizzaks. If it's too high, you're going to sacrifice some grip in snow/ice.
You can usually get better grip in the snow/ice if you drop the pressure a few PSI from the recommended setting... so in our cars, probably around 28/29 might help... with 35 being the norm. It might make your Tire Pressure sensor go a little flakey though, because I'm pretty sure it's set to go off at 28 PSI or lower. If you see it's snowing out.. drop the pressure for that day.. then when the roads are cleared up, you can pump it back up to normal PSI.
Either way.. don't expect to be doing any kind of fast or aggressive driving in the Coupe in snow or icey conditions... unless it's in a circular or figure-8-like pattern in an empty parking lot.

My X sedan performs like a dream in the snow even w/ all seasons (and practically bald) tires.
however...I think I would rather trade that one or two days of snow traction for that MPG I loose the rest of the year

Ice is Ice. It it was more Ice than snow, it would not have mattered if you had 4x4. Pretty much what everyone said above...Or get a job that allows you to work from home if the weather is bad
That's what I do. If it's snowing, I don't even bother going in.
