Door panel armrest-haters...UNITE! ('03,'04,'05)

Time for some hatin'! Allow me.

Am I the only owner who is absolutely tired of the uncomfortable (not to mention cheap looking) door panel armrests? Sure, 2006 and newer owners have a nice comfy armrest on each door, but we '03-'05 owners deal with the discomforts of el cheapo armrests. The keyword here is REST, and they're too crappy for any type of resting. Forget about a long drive with a comfy left elbow. It ain't happenin.

Am I the only one interested in upgrading to the 2006's padded door panel armrests??? Has anyone lifted a pair of these off a salvage vehicle and installed them in their '03, '04 or '05?? Does anyone sell them yet? I haven't seen them a n y w h e r e.

Thoughts? Maybe a group buy if there is enough of us? Perhaps we can persuade someone to stock a bunch if there is enough of a demand.

ps: Don't hate on me for wanting some semblance of quality in my interior You all know what I'm talking about.

Coupes are very different. I took my wifes sedan in for service a while back and they gave me an 05 sedan loaner. The 05 sedan armrest feels nice and soft. I would love to have that armrest in both of our G's.

I never use the arm rests. I have one hand on the wheel at all times, and either my right hand will be on the shifter, or the left hand will be resting on the top of the window sill, against the glass. The arm rest on my drivers side never sees action.

I'd like to see pics of the '06 padded rests though...you've got me curious. Can someone please post a pic of their 06+ coupe armrest??

Don't bother, I had an 05 and it took 4 months for the padding to wear out so that my elbow was rubbed raw everytime I put it up there. I just bought the 07 3 weeks ago and I can tell they used diff padding or whatever, but it feels like it will be going the same way as the 05 did.

I'm so excited!!!!

what are we talking about?

LOUD NOISES!!!

oh, armrests.

WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHGAAAGA GAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!

yeah, i'm a two hand on the steering wheel or one hand on wheel + one hand on shifter type driver, but i could see how someone could want that as an improvement. Good call on the 06 ones. I'm sure somebody, somewhere, has wrecked their 06 coupe by now. just wrench some off.

Even if i put my arm on the rest my arm is higher up than any comfortable spot would be. I have my 03 seat at the lowest position. Where is yours?

I am as well, a die hard. But, on a long-a$$ six hour drive like I have often, the hands at 9 and 3 need a rest and you just wanna cruise!

My 03 doesn't seem to have soft armrests. I don't care too much though.
Just wrap a pillow in some pleather and glue it on there if it bothers you that much.
