From everything i've heard and know, you can't buy the 6spd with the cloth interior. If he's giving you that line, watch out for that guy, he seems to be mis-informed! Unless things have changed since I bought my 04 base 5AT.

 

Yeah, i heard the same about not being able to get cloth with 6-sp. I believe he was missinformed as well but he seemed to know the other things in regards to the car and was pleasant to me while taking my order. They could have changed it though for the 2004's though, i know the 2003's they dont let you order it in that configuration. Anyways, I wanted the leather which based on the infiniti site is standard, and not an option for 6sp. I put $1000 down and it is fully refundable at any time.

If the base auto. starts at 29 and change, wouldn't a 6sp. base be even cheaper? So basically, the tranny doesn't affect prices as it does on most cars.

I don't believe in options, because u never see a dime on trade in. I told a Boston dealer I wanted NO options, they thought I was high. I reassured them that I can afford a better, loaded car, but that I look for value. They were ******, and didn't want to order it. Sad when a dealer doesn't take an individual with resources seriously.

They didn't take me seriously when I told them that I actually plan to do well on my trades, and I think ahead so I won't get burned. They didn't believe this was possible, and that I shouldn't buy cars according to how they depreciate. Ok, as if they know more about car collecting than I do. I reassured them that I have experience in all makes, old and new, and that I make good investments in all my car purchases.

 

The 6 speed is more than a base auto because leather, 18" wheels, sport suspension, and brembos are standard. These and possibly more are either not an option on the auto coupe or cost extra as options.
