Window Tint Ticket
Window Tint Ticket
Another great story on cops pulling us over for our window tint. So I'm driving home 2 blocks away from my house and i see a highway patrolman. I look at my speed and i was doing the speed limit so I thought i was in the clear. He Flips behind me and follows me. I'm so close to my house i think if i make it home i am in the clear. I pull in my driveway and get out of my car. He pulls right behind me and immediatly asks for liceanse and registration. He tells me he is writing me up for my window tint, which i know is illegal on the front windows. This sucks, but i'm glad he didn't see i have no front liceance plate. Then, my parents come out of the house and think i'm getting arrested on our front lawn. I told them it was for tint, and that its just a fix it ticket. Then after the cop hands me the ticket he says, "Ya it was between you and the car in front of you (POS), aren't you glad i got you." Great so now i got two months to get it written off. There are two ways i've come up with to avoid taking the tint off for real. Scenario One: Find a cop willing to sign it off without me actually taking it off. Scenario Two: Find someone in SoCal with a DG coupe without window tint and switch the plates. I know from my last tint ticket that they just eyeball the car and will sign it off. If Anybody else has an idea, i'm open to it. And Yes, i know window tint is no big deal and that i should bite the bullet and get it removed then put it back on. But what a hassle, so no replies with stupid responses like "get over it and just take it off."

well one...you got busted. It sucks more that he pulled up as you were in your dirveway. Thats even more embarrassing. Next, def a good idea IMO, is to find a cop that will sign it off for you or ask one of your friends if they know one. As for your scenario 2 I believe they check your car's VIN during the inspection. Im not entirely sure about that one, but better safe than sorry. If all else fails you are going to have to remove it in the end.
^Thats what i thought. It couldn't be too easy as switching cars. I know some cops slip up, but something as a old switch around is too easy to slip by.
Sorry OP your down to 2 options. Find a cop friend quick, or take off the tint.
