i personally am indifferent to the looks of the gtr. that combined with motor trends comparo of the 08 competition makes me wonder why nissan is always low man on the totem pole as far as horsepower is concerned. the toyota f, corvette ss, and cadillac svt are all pushing 600hp while the gtr is at 450hp.

edit: lexus f-series

Depends on your budget.... With Nissan/Infiniti you really do get what you paid for.
LOL....Agreed. It totally depends on the OP's budget. Actually, it's kind of an odd comparison.

One of the concepts is a VK45 TT powered platform as a 500+ HP option, but not sure if they are actually releasing it.

What are you guys going to do with a GT-R on the street?

You can't street race, you can't do quarter mile drags, you can't go drifting around Taco Bell Drive Thru, you can't power slide into Target or 4 wheel drift onto the freeway.....

So do we all sit at home staring at these stallions and lick the smooth low-drag surface once awhile and imagine how cool it would be if we actually drove them to their full potential?

Bottom line -

Compare apples to apples. GTR to G is apples to oranges. Completely different car classes. How about Camero to Corvette??? Get the idea?

Well if pricing is from what i hear...the gt-r is going to run $80,000, the new g coupe will probably run $45,000 pretyt loaded. Now i believe they have the same engine just the gt-r is going to have twin turbos...so buy the G then dump 15K into it smoke the gt-r and still have another 20 grand left over.

The GTR will have a lower compression motor than the G - the G will be 10.6:1 if I'm not mistaken, but the GTR is set to 9.5:1 on the 3.8l motor.

Difference between AWD and RWD is remarkable, keep that in mind.

Well, I kinda quoted a little too much because the only thing I disagreed on or atleast wasnt credible to me was when you stated "- [08 Coupe] slower than both is350 and 335i"

That's why I replied with "Oh thats good. You somehow know the specs of a car that is set to DEBUT in a couple of months"

I agree on the fact that the 08 Coupe will give you the luxury you paid for, I just completely disagreed on the fact that you speculated that it is going to be slower than the 335i and IS350.

We will have to wait and see on the performance of the 08 Coupe.

Didnt mean to sound disrespectful. I actually thought I said it in a nice way, but you took it the other way.
