How to close your trunk

Ok, I have heard some people talk about fingerprints on our beloved trunks when you close it. Well I to thought this was a pain in the butt, I close my trunk by holding onto the latch on the roof of the trunk between my thumb and first finger, pull down and let gravity take it the rest of the way. whalaa, no fingerprints on outside of trunk.

Now if anyone has any ideas on how to keep break dust from sticking to the wheels please let me know, other than whipe them down after every drive. I was thinking of trying rainx or some type of product on them.

I used rainx on the rims it works ok. Best thing to get rid of the brake dust is to buy better dust free pads.

After a while, the plastic cover on the latch will wear pull off. I'm still looking for a good way.

The coupe doesn't have a little pull handle on the inside of the trunk, to the right of the latch? The sedan has this.

Yeah, the plastic cover on my trunk latch comes right off now from my doing that. The best I can do is gently apply pressure to the Infiniti emblem, which doesn't show the prints much.

Oh well, the backseat is more convenient for most storage anyway.

What I am referring to is the locking latch that keeps trunk closed its not actually a handle. seems to work for me well. Either that or keep a micro fiber towell in your car and use that everytime you close the trunk.

Re: How to close your trunk

Go to a company like AutoLock and buy and install a linear actuator trunk closing device. That's what we used to do on our custom cars with shaved decks[trunks]

That's good for closing the trunk.......
You have to keep the wheels well waxed so the dust won't stick. I wax mine about once a month.
