Kicker 12" L5...

I just got my L5 and i want to get aported box how is this going to go about fitting in my trunk????

You will probably need a custom enclosure for the L5 because it's a square design. You can go with a floor mount but then you will most likely lose the use of your spare tire.

Also your other choice is to go with a 4080 box with I think it's for one ten which you don't lose the use of your spare tire.

maybe you should have done this legwork BEFORE you bought it. just something to think about for the future.

i didnt realzie u were gonna port it. thatll take up some nice room lol. my freind just built a 2 cube ported box for his 12 inch type x. the box is huge

yea i dont really mind having no trunk but i measured and theres only 14 inches in heigh in the trunk so i think im going to need to build my own too i just need to know wut kind of dimentions i should build it to get a good bass

well i chekced on kickers website and they said the requirements for a ported box are between 1.75 and 3.25 cubic ft. id try and build it around 2.5 cubes. check out this link http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137804 there r a lot of plans for boxes. if none of them fit. u could just mess around with the dimensions a little bit to make it work... like if its a little tall shorten it and lenghten it etc.

I have a 12" L5 in my trunk. Its in a sealed box and takes up very little trunk space and hits HARD! Yeah if you get a ported box it will deffinently take up your whole trunk. I would take some pics of mine but I dont have my camera anymore.

take it to an audio shop and theyll be able to do it. shouldnt cost too much.

^ud be suprised...i went to 2 places and they both wanted to charge me around 250 to have them build me a box. for 45 bux i built it myself and it turned out fine and sounds great.
