loss of power, between 2.5 and 3.5k rpms when driving ~ ----UPDATE :( so Sad WTF

well I am a new owner and I just bought a G35 with 29K miles on it. everything was awesome,

then all the sudden today between the rpms of 2.5 and 3.5k I don't have power !! it will keep reving up like I do but its like I don't have any push at all , almost like I am reving it in nuetral then once past 3,5ish it acts normal once again.

iam very worried, what could it be ?

please help. 03 6 spd

UPDATE ------ Well i just went to get pizza and on my way back MY car would red line and only go about 25 miles an hour and filled the air with a terrible burning smell !!!!

Did i mention i am exactly 8 days past my warrenty ?

Any advice ?

take it out in the morning and test it. start in first, and shift to 3rd or 4th and floor it (while you're moving about 10mph in a save testing environment) if your wheels dont spin and you don't move and your speed tact just skips around, your clutch is toast

BIG MONEY. you're probably better off going aftermarket even though your dealer will say anything to talk you out of it because they want you to pour your money into their pockets. you can search around the forum here and see what people go with.

yeah, very good choice, and that's an awesome price too. I've never seen it less than $800

newb. you should know the smell of a burning clutch, and with your symptoms you shouldn't have needed to ask here what you problem is. Good luck with the install. Definitely go aftermarket. The clutch itself wont be the big money hog it will be the installation. I would replace your flywheel while you are at it because it doesn't cost much more, and you can find a nice package deal for the two pretty easily.
