When I went to purchase my 06 coupe in late september I asked the dealer if I could switch the wing and he told me that a lot of people ask that but they wont do it. need to go elsewhere.
Obviosly, it all depends on your dealer

My dealer made the switch with no arguements. Only problem I had was that he was an older guy and didn't quite understand what I was asking. But once he called over a younger rep, they said, "Sure, we can do that. It's the same price either way."

Funny story when I bought my 06 last July. They told me since my IP did not have the wing on it, that I could choose which one to get. They had to order it and I returned a week later to install it. They gave me a loaner g35 sedan. I took off work on a friday because they calimed they didnt do any installations. Anyhoo this dealer was about 60 miles from my home so I was trying to kill time all day hoping for them to be done by mid day. They were not so I sat at the dealership waiting until 4pm when they told me they were done. So I go outside to see it and they put the 06 wing instead of the older wide 05 wing. I was so freakin pissed. They claimed we can switch it real quick. I was like fine do it while I am here. Half hour goes by and the installation manager comes up to me and says, we have a bigger complication, while trying to take off the 06 wing they installed they dented my trunk and they didnt have anymore IP on the lot. F--K!!!!!! Since didnt do install on the weekends I was going to have to wait till Monday. I left my car their and took off in the loaner sedan. I got a hold of the manager of that branch and he called one of his techs to come in on Saturday to do the work and the gave me splash guards for free. So anyways thats my story. Sorry your wing thread made me think about this.

If they installed the 06 wing and then swapped it for the prior year's model, I hope they replaced the trunk because the hole pattern is different ... that was the story I got when I conned in to my 06 wing after it was installed...

What if I wanted to remove the wing? This is probably a really stupid question, but can I even do that? I think I have to get a new trunk because of the holes right?
