Damn, sliding her sideways was fun until I saw my front Rim

Ok, so it is wet out and I decided to step on it a little and it slid sideways so I let off the gas but after parking it I noticed my passenger front rim has a nice case of rash. Damn low profiles!!! I have the 18" could not image how bad it would have been with 19's.

Anyone know of a shop if Arizona that fixes rim rash?

I only have 1200 miles on her

I have been so careful with the curbs and everytime I saw someone with curb rash I would say to myself "that is not happening to my car" but I would never guessed that doing a doughnut in front of my house on wet pavement would have caused this but oh well I guess that is the way it goes!

Luckly the damage is minor so it should be easy to fix....

Dealer only puts in 32 psi could that be the problem?

The dealer puts 32psi in the 18's when it calls for 35 psi, I wonder if that could be part of the problem as to why it happened so easily?

What do you guys run in your tires for psi?

DriftDreamzSS I can demonstrate for you ....

Ok, Driftdreamzss bring your ride over I will demonstrate it to you, on your car of course.

Only thing I can figure is because the entire car slide sideways not just the rer end that the sidewall of the tire gave way and the rim hit the pavment while sliding. Luckly damage is minor so I just need to find a shop in Phoenix that fixes rims...

damn that sucks, Last night I was in my friends evo9 drifting and we ended up hitting a little pile of sand frozen well enough to brake the bead on this tire.

good luck with the repair

The tpms would've kicked off if the dealer filled it to 32psi. I'm always at 35psi

I bet you curber your rim slightly didnt feel it inside your car, then a week later noticed it after you had let the back slip a little bit and assumed it was that. No way will you get curb rash by just letting the back end slip unless of course you hit the curb.

Wait, you have to clarify what you mean by 'they' when you make that statement.

I am ASSUMING by 'they' you mean the tire pressure sensors that are mounted on the rim, right?

If so, I believe they only notify you if the PSI falls below 25...but I am not 100% sure.

That is what you are talking about, correct?

Im pretty sure i have heard 29 as well for the TPS. Even though i dont have them i have still read a number of threads about them.
