lets see, the only difference i can see between a pioneer avic z1 and d2 is that the z1 can play dvds, while the d2 cant. But the price has a great difference.... I was thinking of getting the d2 and a dvd player add on to the d2 that i can put somewhere like the glove department, or somewhere to make it look clean, anyone have any ideas..

 

I think a built-in dvd player is worth the price difference...no mess, no clutter, no addtional space used up.

 

Def go with the Z1..You won't regret it. The price diff as mentioned is well worth it. Plus less hassal of finding another space to use up.

Z1 also allows for bluetooth support and song storage

 

I love my Z1 - I have all the adapters available for it: bluetooth, sat radio, back up cam, ipod, etc. It has a 30 gig hd that can store music and runs the navi. The D2 runs the navi off the disc, big stinky poo imo.

I'm not sure about the D2, but def for the Z1 you can get a hack to use the dvd player while driving - look for ducatiboy on avic411.com

 

so Z1 is the way to go
