Is this true?

I was reading this review and this person claims the G35 coupe is extremely loud on the highway saying it sounds like "hurricane force winds" outside the car and describes it like this:

"Now for my major quibble. The G35 is not a quiet car by any stretch of the imagination. Not that a sporting coupe should necessarily be quiet per se. The engine actually makes an aggressive snarl as the RPMs build and the exhaust note is pleasing for a medium displacement V6, particularly with the windows down. That is to be expected, and even desired. What is not expected is the incredible amount of wind noise that floods the cabin above 70 mph. It is literally no quieter than my Pathfinder at similar speeds and the car is as slippery as they come from a drag coefficient point of view (.28 drag coefficient with aero package). You'd think someone had strapped an invisible barn door to the grille when you reach freeway speeds. This to me is simply more evidence of cost (and perhaps, weight) cutting - thin glass, fewer and thinner door and window seals and sound insulation. It all adds up to a car that really lets you know when you have hit 80 mph. And despite its sporting nature, to me this is not a desirable trait in a $40,000 vehicle."

I just want to know as a prospective buyer is this true??

^^^me either...06 6mt, in fact coming from a 00 civic si i thought the cabin noise (or lack thereof) was night and day...i think i've only driven my car twice without the stereo on though, but if the factory non bose system drowns it out how loud can it really be?

I'm not trying to flame you. But, your best bet is to take a test drive at 80 mph. Everyone's sensitivity when it comes to hearing is different. Also what sounds are tolerable vary person to person.

Definitely less than a Evo. I do drive around with my stereo off a lot and there is some wind noise but not much. But I love to have the windows down and listen to my G scream. If you don't want much or any wind noise it will have to be a German car.

yah I know I want to go and take one for a ride and I have but the one I took sounded good but I drove it in the city so I never got to experience what this guy is talking about and then the next dealership I went to the sales manager wouldn't let me drive it and said it had nothing to do with the fact that I was 20 years old. So maybe i'll try again soon.

No noise in my 07 at 70mph at all!

Beyond anything normal in any car at that speed.

Agreed. Thats the best fix out there. Too bad the rattles will become more annoying. Time for some Sound Deadening.

And to think I actually roll my windows down, and open the sunroof, so I can hear the exhaust more.....

Seriously tho... It's not that loud. You should take a ride in my 68' Chevelle-SS. At 80mph you have to practically scream if you want to hold a conversation with a passenger.....
